• Suryaprakash has always idealized the golden voices of the vintage era.

• the phenomenal voice production of giants like

  Shri. T R Mahalingam
  Shri. M M Dhandapani Desikar
  Smt. K B Sundarambal
  Shri G N B
  Smt. M S Amma
  Smt. M L V
  was due to their sathyam (honest vocalism) and full throated singing

• The fact that there were no mikes during those times, also contributed greatly to their voice strength and felicity in the higher octaves

• As one possessing a natural voice and flair for rendering those songs, he thought deeply of reviving almost forgotten songs of vintage film and theatre that were strictly classical in substance by taking them to the present generation and posterity.

• The result was the birth of an album “Legendary Melodies” in which he has rendered select vintage classical film songs in his own voice and interpretation.  The most laborious, and hence fulfilling aspect of this project was the search and excavation of original records, song scripts etc. from individual collectors far and wide. 

• Music lovers all over the globe have showered this album with overwhelming appreciation and hailed it as a “path-breaking effort”. 

• So much so, nowadays, Surya’s rasikas and fans expect him to render at least one or two songs from the album at the end of his concerts!
